Przeworsk archaeological horizon
Named by archaeologists after finds near Przeworsk in present-day Poland
Archaeologists use the Przeworsk label for recurring settlement, burial, pottery, metalwork, and production patterns across parts of present-day Poland and neighbouring regions. Cremation cemeteries, iron production, farms, exchange, and Roman-period objects reveal varied local communities, not a one-to-one ethnic map.
Evidencias, movilidad, escala política y cambio histórico
Geografía histórica y regiones conectadas
Sites occur across changing settlement and exchange landscapes linked to the Vistula, Oder, Carpathians, Baltic, and Roman frontiers, without defining one ethnic territory.
Organización política y escala comunitaria
Households, farms, burial communities, workshops, local leaders, and temporary military coalitions are visible unevenly. Archaeology does not identify one Przeworsk government or centralized state.
Transformación altomedieval y recepción moderna
Polish museums and archaeological institutions preserve type-site and regional evidence. The Przeworsk label cannot establish Vandal, Germanic, Slavic, Polish, or personal ancestry.
An eponymous archaeological orientation point, not an ancient capital or political center.
Material similarities cannot be converted automatically into Vandal or other ethnic identity.
They reveal selected practices more clearly than language, household identities, or every form of labor.

Cremation practices varied by cemetery and period and cannot supply a complete demographic record.
Large iron-production districts depended on mining, charcoal, specialized work, agriculture, transport, and unequal access to resources.
Roman imports and weapon deposits show selective connections and social practices, not Roman identity or a single warrior people.
The surviving record is selective. Fortifications, rich graves, imported objects, coins, and external texts often make mobile elites and conflict more visible than households, women, children, farmers, fishers, craft workers, coerced workers, and enslaved people.
