Your references. Your questions. Your analysis.
Explore genetic similarity with G25 Studio.
Compare populations, test alternative models, and see how your choice of references changes the result. A workspace for hands-on coordinate analysis.
The analytical toolkit
Follow the question. Compare the models.
Work from compatible coordinates to population distances, modeled proportions, and visual comparisons. Keep the reference panel and method in view at every step.
Choose your reference panel
Search 100+ community calculators across modern, ancient, regional, and global reference sets. Add, remove, group, or aggregate populations to test a specific question.
Compare populations and samples
Inspect population comparisons, distance scores, and result tables. Standard distances include Euclidean, Manhattan, and Chebyshev; PRO expands the available metrics.
Test Oracle and Monte Carlo models
Explore nearest references and alternative combinations. PRO adds advanced three- and four-population modes, alternative fits, and custom population proportions.
Explore statistical structure
Use PCA for a different view of the selected references. PRO adds MDS, UMAP, t-SNE, LDA, K-means, and hierarchical clustering.
Choose an optimization method
Compare modeling assumptions and their fit. PRO includes Monte Carlo V3, SLSQP, BAT, and PSO methods for advanced workflows.
Read results in context
Move between tables, charts, maps, and model comparisons. A closer fit describes an approximation within your chosen model, not a verified family relationship.
From coordinates to comparison
Three steps to your next question.
Start with a compatible input, choose a clear reference panel, then compare more than one plausible explanation.
Choose your coordinates
Use compatible scaled G25 coordinates. Need the input files? Explore the G25 Coordinates service.
Set up the comparison
Choose a calculator, select populations, and configure the available distance or modeling method. Match the coordinate format to the reference data.
Inspect and compare
Review distances, fit scores, modeled proportions, and visualizations. Change one assumption at a time and compare alternative models.

AI-assisted explanations and visuals
PRO The AI Assistant helps explain results. AI explanations can be inaccurate and require critical review.
Credits AI Infographic creates an AI-generated visual from analysis results. Image generation uses credits separately from PRO.
Browse the Infographic Gallery for existing visuals.
Methodological clarity
Keep the model and its limits visible.
Genetic similarity is a statistical comparison. It does not establish ancestry, ethnicity, identity, or descent from a specific person.
Reference-dependent
Distances and modeled proportions depend on the selected populations, scaling format, and analysis method. Different panels can produce different results.
Fit is not proof
Several reference combinations may fit the same target similarly well. Compare alternatives and document the assumptions behind each model.
Privacy-sensitive
Coordinates are derived genetic data. Store files securely, share only what is needed, and review external services before uploading your information.

Before you begin
Frequently asked questions.
What do I need to start?
Use compatible scaled G25 coordinates with the matching reference format. You can open G25 Studio with existing coordinates or choose the separate coordinate-generation service if you have a compatible raw DNA file.
What can I use in Standard?
Standard provides the core calculator workflow, population comparisons, basic Oracle reference models, PCA, and standard distance metrics at no cost.
What does PRO add?
PRO adds advanced three- and four-population models, MDS, UMAP, t-SNE, LDA, clustering, expanded distance metrics, optimization methods, and custom population proportions. The AI Assistant is a PRO feature; AI infographic generation uses credits separately.
What is PRO + Coordinates?
The package combines the existing PRO access with G25 coordinate generation from a compatible raw DNA file. Choose PRO alone if you already have the coordinates you need.
Are modeled proportions proof of ancestry?
No. Models describe statistical genetic similarity under the chosen references and settings. Proportions and fit scores are not proof of ancestry, ethnicity, identity, or descent from a particular person.
Why do calculators give different results?
Calculators use different reference populations, labels, and assumptions. Compare alternative panels and document the coordinate format and method before interpreting a result.
Do I need a genetics background?
The beginner guide explains the core workflow. Start with a small, documented comparison and explore advanced methods as you become familiar with their assumptions.
Is G25 Studio the same as Workspace?
No. The existing G25 Studio calculator workflow remains separate from G25 Studio Workspace, a complementary service when available. Opening G25 Studio does not redirect you to Workspace.
How should I handle coordinate files?
Coordinates are derived genetic information. Store them securely, share only what is needed, and review the privacy terms of any external service before uploading them.
