Reference notes
G25 is a 25-dimensional coordinate representation derived from principal component analysis of genetic variation. It supports statistical comparison between a DNA profile and modern or ancient reference samples.
Admixture calculators model DNA against selected reference populations. Each calculator uses a different panel and method, so results are complementary estimates of statistical genetic similarity rather than definitive ancestry assignments.
The sample explorer includes published ancient DNA from peer-reviewed studies, including the Allen Ancient DNA Resource and other academic datasets, with citations and available metadata.
Smaller distances indicate closer statistical genetic similarity within the selected coordinate system and reference panel. They do not prove descent from a population or individual.
G25 Studio, Admixture Calculators, and the G25 Calculator Explorer are free for users who upload a compatible DNA file. G25 coordinate generation and some match-analysis features are paid products.
