Abstract
Summary of the research findings
We describe aHISplex, a new method for imputing phenotypes from ancient DNA based on a modern reference panel. We show that it performs well for eye, hair, and skin color prediction even with low coverage data (>0.05X) typical of many ancient DNA samples. We demonstrate its utility on published ancient DNA data, showing good concordance with previously reported phenotypes.
