Abstract

Summary of the research findings

The origin of this haplogroup is bound to the ancient archaeological sites of Central Asia including the mysterious Oxus Civilization. One of the many languages from that part of the world might be a descendant of the proto-language spoken by the first Neolithic people, who carried Y-DNA R2* as their paternal haplogroup. Much later in history the spread of Y-DNA haplogroup R2a to different parts of the world correlates with a similar dispersal pattern of Y-DNA haplogroups R1a-Z93, R1a-Z2124, R1b-M73, G2a and J2a.
